Tarkio Elementary students and staff, as well as members of the public, were treated to a free tour of the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus grounds in Tarkio on Thursday morning, August 29. Landry Hurst, front, was one of the many children who were fascinated at the sights and sounds of the circus.
A member of the circus shows the Tarkio Elementary students the big cats used in the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus. The animals include a 17-year-old, black-maned lion and two, 16-year-old golden tabby tigers.
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus was held in Tarkio, Missouri, on Thursday evening, August 29, 2019. Many turned out to view the tented, one-ring circus, which included a 90-minute show of several amazing acts.
Founded in 1985, the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus has become a fantastic show that travels all over the United States for eight months out of the year. Based out of Hugo, Oklahoma, the circus crew travels far and wide to bring big-tent entertainment.
