This picture of the Tarkio City Hall / Fire Station is one of many painted by Edna O’Dell and featured in a book, “Tarkio Memories – Through the Art of Edna McCoy O’Dell,” being sold by Tarkio College. Tarkio City Hall / Fire Station was initially built to house the Tarkio Fire Station, including sleeping quarters for firemen, city fire trucks and equipment. Later, city offices, including the police office, a meeting room, and a jail were located there. When the Tarkio Volunteer Fire Department moved to its present location, the building was renovated to allow more space for the city offices.
