Tarkio College, Inc. Board of Directors has announced the launch of Tarkio Technology Institute, a post-secondary career and technical school that will offer diploma and certificate programs in Plumbing Technology and Wind Energy Technology beginning January 6, 2020.

Tarkio College, Inc. believes Tarkio Tech will help fill the much-needed vacancies in our regional industries and provide critical technical educational opportunities to our rural students in Northwest Missouri, Southwest Iowa, Southeast Nebraska, and Northeast Kansas.

Tarkio Tech believes that a well-trained workforce is essential in today’s economy and even more critical for the survival of our rural communities. Their design is to develop programs that include a classroom experience, lab opportunities, authentic worksite exposure and entrepreneurial training providing students the highest level of preparation needed to succeed in their chosen career.

Tarkio Hy-Vee will have a “round up” campaign to raise funds for the program. Customers will have the opportunity to round their total purchase up to the next whole dollar amount. Hy-Vee will match a portion of what is collected locally through the end of September.
