In front of the home crowd at Fairfax, the East Atchison Wolves High School Football Team hosted the NorthWest Nodaway Muskets Friday, September 6, 2019. The Wolves took advantage of the warm evening to improve their record to 2-0.

Gus Hurst gave EA great field position to set up for the first offensive series on the EA 30 yard line. Briacin Bywater took the first handoff from Jake McEnaney and ran 50 yards for the first score of the game. The two point conversion failed, making the score Wolves 6, Muskets 0.

The Muskets failed to find the endzone on their first possessions. EA scored quickly with a pass from McEnaney to Kaylin Merriweather. Bywater added the two point conversion to make the score EA 14, NW Nodaway 0. The first quarter finished on a stalled Musket drive.

In the second quarter, Bywater capped off a five play drive, covering the last 20 yards and converting the two point conversion to make the score EA 22, NW Nodaway 0. On the next score opportunity for the Wolves, Jarrett Spinnato caught a pass from McEnaney. Bywater added the two point conversion to make the score EA 30, NW Nodaway 0.

On the Muskets’ next drive, they were driven backwards by the defense, scoring a safety by McEnaney bringing EA’s score to 32. The final scoring drive of the half was ended with a six-yard pass from McEnaney to Bywater. The two point conversion failed making the halftime score EA 38, NW Nodaway 0.

In the Wolves’ first possesion after halftime, McEnaney got the final touchdown of the evening on a five yard run. The two point conversion was good, ending the game with a final score of EA 46, NW Nodaway 0.
