Emmett Doyle Hubbard, the son of Fred Wallace and Una Lee (Bolin) Hubbard, was born April 16, 1941, in Gideon, Missouri. He attended school in Arkansas.

In November 1967, Emmett was united in marriage to Linda Barth in King City, Missouri. They became the parents of two children, Mike and Kelly. They later divorced.

Emmett was employed by Missouri Beef Packers, Rock Port, until its closing. He was then employed by Sprint Telecommunication, installing fiber optic cable in many parts of the world. Retiring in 2003, Emmett returned to Rock Port and made his home at Fair Oaks Housing until health issues forced his move to the Pleasant View Nursing Home. Emmett passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 78.

Emmett was a member of the Eagles Club, Arkansas.

Besides his parents, Emmett was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers. Survivors include son, Michael (Kathie) Hubbard, California, Missouri; daughter, Kelly (David) Furnas, Brownville, Nebraska; grandchildren, Carter, Caleb, Jacob and Grady; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other dear friends who considered him “Grandpa.”

A private memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Rock Port Nutrition Center.
