Jimmie R. Hughes, 74, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at his Rock Port, Missouri, home.
He was born on June 23, 1945, in Rock Port to James C. and Maxine R. (Linville) Hughes.
On October 15, 1964, he married Marilyn Maness at the Rock Port Baptist Church, and they became parents of three daughters.
Jimmie was a city employee for 47 years, retiring as utility superintendent. He also served as a volunteer fireman and police officer. Jimmie was an avid fisherman.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters-in-law, Janice Groff and Frances Groff; and grandson, Eric Kerr.
Survivors in include his wife, Marilyn, of their Rock Port home; daughters, Jana Beth Cooper of Newport News, Virginia, Rae Lynne (Cory) Hill of Rock Port, and Mindy Kaye (Peter Wilson) Hughes of Nebraska City, Nebraska; brothers, Gary (Joyce) Hughes of Rock Port, Rick Hughes of Rock Port, and Steve (Hope) Hughes of Fritch, Texas; sisters, Janet Thomas (Joe Stevens) of Tarkio, Missouri, Bonnie Hughes of Rock Port, and Midge (Steve) Hunter of Rock Port; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Judy Bradley of Rock Port; brother-in-law, Larry Groff; grandchildren, LaChanta (Orlando) Negron, Summer Greenwalt, and Wren Hughes-Wilson; great-grandchild, October Samuel Negron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
