Bid Beck appears to be the special victim of petty thieves. In recent days they have taken two federal car use stickers from his truck, have drained the gasoline from one of his trucks, and taken the bumper grills off one of his trucks. In order to steal the latter attachment, it was necessary for the thieves to remove several bolts. The trucks stand in plain view on Main Street, and the thieves were particularly bold.

Rock Port’s Blue Jays had an easy time of it Friday night in a run-away 54-6 football contest with the Mustangs of North Nodaway at the Rock Port field. Even though the Jays were without the services of injured quarterback Rick Meyerkorth, his brother Dave filled in directing the team to the lopsided score. The Jays were also without the services of fullback Ron Oswald, out with the flu. Players of the week were Tom Graves and Randy Dunn.

Shawn and Jodee Minter of Rock Port, Missouri, would like to announce the birth of their son, Mitchell Douglas. Mitchell was born September 13 at St. Luke’s, Northland, Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Mitchell weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces.
The sixth annual Citizens Bank & Trust Fall Fashion Show and Salad Luncheon was held September 14 at the Rock Port Methodist Church. This annual event has grown over the past six years and is one that is looked forward to by the ladies of Atchison County.
