Five new members will be inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for 2019.

Former baseball coach Jef Field will be joined by former athletes Nate Bunton, Ann Gramkow Epler, Clint Eikmeier and Karen Martin as the newest honorees into the Midland University Hall of Fame.

Field served as MU’s head baseball coach from 1995 to 2012, racking up more than 400 wins during that time, including a then-school record 42 victories during the 2006 season. Field’s teams produced 20 or more victories in 12 seasons under his watch. Field led the Warriors to three conference tournament championships (1997, 2001, 2006), two regular season conference crowns (1998, 2006) and was named the Conference Coach of the Year three times (1997, 1998, 2001). Field coached more than 30 first or second-team All-Conference selections during his tenure.

Bunton (2006) played on the Warriors baseball team from 2003 to 2006. He was selected to the first team of the All-GPAC squad his junior and senior seasons and was an NAIA honorable mention All-American his senior campaign in 2006. During that season, he posted a 13-3 record with a 2.02 ERA and 117 strikeouts to help Midland to a then school-record 42 victories. For his career, he earned 23 victories with a 3.12 ERA and 277 strikeouts in 259.2 innings pitched. Bunton was a two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete and was the winner of the Petrow Award in 2006, given to the outstanding male athlete at the University. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 38th round of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft and spent two seasons in the Indians organization, finishing with 11 saves and a 3.46 ERA. A graduate of Rock Port High School, he is the son of Bill and Kim Bunton, Rock Port.

The Hall of Fame Reunion will be held Friday, October 4.
