After a year of construction for the third phase of an intense renovation project, the Atchison County Memorial Building reopened in June, 2019. To celebrate the building’s new look, the Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation board is hosting a rededication ceremony in November.

The board would like the community’s help in collecting memories for the ceremony by submitting any photos that feature the Memorial Building. From proms, weddings, fundraisers, plays and more, there are very precious memories that have been made inside the building in its 100 years.

You can submit your photos for the board to share on posters and tables at the ceremony by emailing them to news@atchisoncountymail.com or bringing them to the Atchison County Mail office (321 S. Main, Rock Port) to be scanned. You can also join the “Atchison County Memorial Building” event on the Atchison County Mail’s Facebook page to submit and see other photos.
