The Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued a crash report for an airboat accident that occurred September 19, 2019, in Atchison County, Missouri.

The report states that an airboat, described as homemade and operated by Max Peeler, 80, of Rock Port, Missouri, took on water while traveling in flood waters in the south west area of Atchison County, near Route Z and I Avenue.

The boat sank and was left at the scene. A passenger, Deborah Hill, 55, of Winter Park, Florida, later sought medical attention for minor injuries at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Peeler did not require medical attention. Other passengers were: Charles Hill, Florida; Douglas Dodd, Florida; Ryan Sadler, Maryville; and Phillip Graves, Fairfax.

Five Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and three Missouri Department of Conservation agents assisted during the investigation.
