Students in the Rock Port High School Piano Class held their first recital Wednesday, October 16. Kalyn Mertens, Joey Herron, Scarlett Kish, Lauren Kelly, Sara Newbanks, Gabe Minter, and Fayth Pitts (pictured above, left to right) all started piano this semester. Students each performed three different pieces. Any RPHS student is able to take piano for their Fine Arts credit. “Piano is a great foundation for any skill. The piano class is individually structured for each student. Students plug their headphones in to practice and then when ready to test, they unplug and play out loud. The class can host beginners through advanced players,” said Abby Palmer, piano instructor.
