Two local organizations recently received grants from the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri Inc.

Mary Hinde, President/CEO of Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri, right, and Corey Herron, Community Foundation board member, presented the grants to the Rock Port Senior Center and the Atchison-Holt Disaster Relief Committee.

The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri Inc. was established in 2009 as a public charity with a 501(c)3 designation from the IRS which allows donors maximum tax advantages while supporting their favorite charities. Funded by a special donor with additional contributions from area individuals, the newly created Disaster Relief fund has been designed to assist qualifying not-for-profits in the 18-county region with disaster relief primarily for flood victims.
