Each year, the Atchison County Girl Scouts get together to celebrate the birthday of their founder, Juliette Gordon Low, with a good old-fashioned bake-off. Not just any bake-off though, but a mother/daughter cupcake war. The only rule is that the girls are supposed to make the cupcakes with their mom or mother figure in their life. This year, Marilyn McMahon, former Girl Scout leader in Rock Port, Sharon Wynn, former Girl Scout leader in Tarkio, and Ginny Smith, a former Girl Scout, judged the cupcakes and they were impressed with the girls’ hard work. Winners included:

In Taste – 1st place, Bella; 2nd place, Mackenzie; and 3rd place, Brenna

In Decoration – 1st place, Lexi; 2nd place, Caroline; and 3rd place, Ryann.
