Tarkio High School FCCLA and National Honor Society students, as well as sponsors and members of the community, spent Saturday, December 7, 2019, ringing the bell and raising funds for The Salvation Army. It was a beautiful day to be out and about and The Salvation Army raised $2,100 for locals in need. Pictured are Mark, Bryli, and Quin Staten ringing the bells at the intersection of highways 136 and 59 in Tarkio. (Janene McEnaney photo)

The Smith family assisted with bell ringing for the Atchison County Salvation Army for Fairfax Friday, December 6. Pictured above are Ginny Smith with her children, Oliver, Charlie, Mac, Henry and Scout. Nine different groups with a total of 25 volunteers rang the bell Friday. Bob Alldredge, board member, organized the day’s activity. There is a collection kettle at Community Hospital-Fairfax in the front lobby for those wishing to contribute. All collections stay in Atchison County.
