East Atchison wrestler Lucas Joesting placed first in the 106 pound weight class at the Lone Jack Classic.

In the 170 pound weight class, Wolf wrestler Aaron Schlueter went 3-1, placing second in the Lone Jack Classic.

The East Atchison wrestling team competed in its first competition of the season on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the Lone Jack Kickoff Classic. The Wolves competed against a field of 15 teams from the Kansas City area in a 16-man bracket. East Atchison finished 6th with 126 points with most kids finishing in the top seven in their weight classes. The team recorded over 20 pins. The event was so big that wrestling mats were set up in the library to keep the competition from lasting even longer.

182 lbs. – Cameron Nance, 11th, 2-2

195 lbs. – Kayden Levendahl, 7th (best match of the day award)

220 lbs. – Jayden Umbarger, 5th, 2-2

285 lbs. – Grant Turnbull, 9th, 3-1
