Reproductive success in a beef cow herd is critical to profitability. As beef producers, it is impacted by our management of not only reproduction, but also nutrition and health. The question is: Are we doing everything we can to positively impact profitability through reproduction in a cost-effective way?

Beef cattle producers have the opportunity hear about strategies to “improve the bottom line of breeding” at the 35th annual Three-State Beef Conference.

The program will be repeated at three locations: January 14 in Greenfield, Iowa; January 15 in Savannah, Missouri; and January 16 in Syracuse, Nebraska.

Topics and speakers for the conference are as follows: “Pre-calving nutritional strategies: Am I staying ahead or getting behind?,” Dr. Travis Mulliniks, range cow nutritionist, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; “Vaccines and implants: effects on production and reproduction,” Dr. Craig Payne, extension veterinarian, University of Missouri Extension; “Reproductive performance: Are you leaving money on the table?,” Dr. Jordan Thomas, state beef reproduction specialist, University of Missouri Extension.

Each program starts at 6:00 p.m. Iowa location attendees should call Adair County Extension at 641-743-8412; Missouri attendees should contact Andrew County MU Extension at 816-324-3147; and Nebraska producers need to contact Otoe County Extension at 402-269-2301. The $25 fee includes the program, proceedings copy, and meal. Registrations in advance are appreciated for meal counts.

If you need accommodations because of a disability, have emergency medical information to share, or need special arrangements in case the building must be evacuated, contact them immediately.
