• Eight basketball teams and seven volleyball teams are entered in the annual high school tournament which is to be held in Fairfax, January 18 through 20.

• Tierney & Lineberry of Kansas City, who established the Fairfax Locker Plant last fall, has dissolved partnership and the Fairfax plant is now the property of C.G. Lineberry, who also has taken over the ownership of the plants at Mound City and Brookfield, Missouri. Mr. Tierney has taken the plants at Osawatomie and Cherryvale, Kansas.

• Land of the estate of the late J.W. Graves has been sold in three tracts. Herbert Smith has bought the 150 acres on which the improvements are located; the southeast 80 has been sold to Denny White and the northwest 40 to Guy Graves.

January 15, 1970

• At a called meeting of Fairfax Community Housing Board of Directors Tuesday afternoon, final papers were signed authorizing Burke and Sons, Rock Port, to proceed with the proposed new building addition to Fair Haven Apartments for senior citizens.

• The 275 Conference junior high tourney swings into the final two nights tonight with two boys’ semifinal games and the girls’ third place game. The Fairfax junior high boys and girls are still alive as the tournament progresses.

January 12, 1995

• Community Hospital welcomed its New Year’s baby Tuesday, January 3, 1995, at 2:08 p.m. The baby was Steven Alexander Bryant, son of Christie Gosnell and Kenny Bryant of Rock Port, who weighed in at 5 pounds, 13 ounces.

• This Saturday, January 14, ends 27 years in business for the Rogers Pharmacy store in Fairfax. Several weeks ago Rogers moved their pharmacy to their Tarkio store.
