Last June, over 100 soon-to-be high school seniors from Missouri were sent on a “trip of a lifetime” by their local electric cooperatives. The talented teenagers gathered in Jefferson City before traveling to Washington, D.C. for the annual Youth Tour. The delegation joined more than 1,800 other youth in the nation’s capital making this the largest Youth Tour ever.

The Missouri delegation kept plenty busy with stops at numerous historic sites including Arlington National Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial, National World War II Memorial, Ford’s Theater, Smithsonian Institution, Mount Vernon, and many more.

This year marked the 56th consecutive summer that Missouri’s electric cooperatives brought together some of the best and brightest and sent them to Washington. Atchison-Holt Electric Cooperative sponsored Will Oswald in 2019.

If you are a high school junior, you may be eligible to participate in the 2020 Youth Tour, June 19-25.  If you would like more information on the 2020 Youth Tour, contact Afton Schomburg at 660-744-5344 or aschomburg@ahec.coop.
