The new year began with a new twist. We had nine ladies January 14, 2020. With the ice storm the previous day, we were worried that some members wouldn’t be able to come, so we called our subs. But with two or three people calling, there was a little mix-up. That only made for more fun. Substituting for us were Sharon Smith, Karen Clark, and Marie Adams.
Norma Bradfield won high score, Sharon Smith won second high, and Karen Clark had low score. Of course with one person sitting out each time, no score was completely accurate, but that doesn’t matter in our game rules.
Merylan Lowrey was hostess, providing a delightful and delicious Boston crème poke cake covered with a thick chocolate icing on top of which a mound of whipped topping supported a happy snowman. It was almost too cute to eat but we managed.
With nine around the table the conversations were hard to keep up with, jumping from credit reports, to ball games, health issues, grocery deliveries, and of course weather and road issues. It was circle of friendship that pitch lends itself to, a good feeling to begin 2020.
