A van belonging to Sharon and Forrest Alderman burst into flames in their driveway in Tarkio the evening of Tuesday, February 11, 2020. The Aldermans had gone to put gas into the van and then went home, pulling into their driveway and parking in front of the open garage. When Sharon got out of the van to help her husband exit the vehicle, flames were already shooting out from under the hood. Thankfully, the lift still worked and Sharon was able to safely get Forrest out before the fire totally engulfed the van. Tarkio Fire Department responded to the scene and were able to put out the fire, which had begun to melt the siding to the garage. (Submitted photos)
