Women will have an incredible opportunity to hear from and interact with a national motivational speaker who has impacted over a million people at this year’s Atchison County Women in Ag program. The event is planned for Tuesday, March 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Velma Houts Fair Building in Rock Port. Offered by the Atchison County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA), Atchison County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), and University of Missouri Extension, the theme for this year’s event is “Life is not a dress rehearsal.”
Registration opens at 4:30 p.m. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and drinks will be available while attendees browse products from local women entrepreneurs and learn about services available through local agencies. Local vendors to be onhand include Burlaps & Bows, GB’N’CO Candles, Paintings by Tess Hale, Alma’s Herbs, Chrissy Shefferd Photography, USDA, MU Extension and many more!
At 5:15 p.m., there will be a local boutique showcase, a fashion show with Ella & Grey and Midwest Chic Boutique.
At 6:00 p.m., guest speaker Dr. Tim Crowley, a motivational keynote speaker, leadership, and resilience expert will present “Life is Not a Dress Rehearsal”. Dr. Tim Crowley is from northwest Missouri and has worked with individuals, companies and agencies all across the country. His engaging and interactive presentation, following the theme of “life is not a dress rehearsal,” will give women the tools they need to live life to the fullest, focus on what really matters, and connect with others during tough times through face-to-face conversations.
At 7:30 p.m., door prizes will be handed out and silent auction winners announced. Silent auction items include Pioneer Woman utensils, Farmhouse décor, signs, grass seed, and much more! Door prizes include gift cards, two Kindle Fires, garden cart, a surprise grand prize, and more great items! Door prizes are donated by local businesses and silent auction sales will raise funds for future Women in Ag programs.
Everyone is invited and welcome to attend. You don’t have to be from Atchison County or involved in agriculture. The cost to attend is only $5 per person and includes the meal and program.
