The Atchison County Library is pleased to announce memorials honoring two women who served as Library Trustees.

Carol Barnes served as a representative of the Westboro area from 1982 to 1989. With suggestions from her son, Rod Barnes, about Carol’s love of nature, the director chose “Missouri Wild and Wonderful, A Photographic Collection” by Matt Miles to honor Mrs. Barnes.

Mary Lou Broermann served as a representative of the Westboro area from 1989 to 2003. With suggestions from her daughter, Katherine Cox, about Mary Lou’s passion for flowers, the book “Floret Farm’s A Year in Flowers” by Erin Benzakein was chosen to honor Mrs. Broermann.

Both of these memorial books are now available at each of the libraries in the county. Please visit your library to enjoy these beautiful books and remember these fine public servants.
