March 23, 1945

Members of the Auxiliary, with their families, enjoyed a buffet dinner at The Ritz dining room last Friday evening in observance of the anniversary of the Legion. There was a good attendance and an excellent dinner, served cafeteria style.

Following the dinner, there was a songfest, followed by a talk on Russia by H. B. Hunt. Miss Wilma Silence and Miss Virginia Fries of the high school faculty furnished the music and direction for the singing.

March 26, 1970

Rock Port Blue Jays are off to the Missouri State Track Meet at Columbia. Those going are Randy Bunn, Larry Tharp, John Webster, Rick Meyerkorth, Tom Lutz, Tom Graves, Steve Davis, Gary Tharp, Mike Randall, and Mark Randall.

As of February 1, Missouri had completed 747 miles to full interstate standards and opened them to the traveling public. Another 47 miles are under contract and will be completed and opened to traffic by December 31. Missouri has 77 miles of dual lane facility in use but they are not up to full interstate standards.

March 23, 1995

Barry Fentiman and Amy Reynolds were chosen as the Good School Citizens on March 9. These two students have shown leadership and school pride at school and the community.

Phillip Jason Eilers, a 1994 graduate of Rock Port High School, was recently named to the dean’s list at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He had a 4.0 grade average and is a freshman majoring in civil engineering.

Gretchen Dickkut, a junior basketball player at Baker University, has earned All-Heart of America Athletic Conference honorable mention honors in voting by conference coaches last week. She is a graduate of Rock Port High School.
