Dear Parents and Guardians,
Well . . . the 2019-20 school year has certainly been a memorable one! I have often said we have the best staff, students, and parents around and our current situation only confirms that belief. Governor Parson announced all Missouri schools will remain closed; as a result, our approach to the end of the school year will look a little different. A few important dates to keep in mind as we enter the final stretch . . .
April 27-28 (Student belongings) – Please stop by the elementary office doors on April 27 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or April 28 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. to pick up student belongings and return library books or other borrowed items. If you call the office (744-6294) prior to arriving we will have your bags ready to go as you pull up. Teachers will conveniently pack student supplies into bags for pick-up. Our hope is to include information about their classroom teacher next year as well as a supply list.
May 7 (Chromebooks) – Please stop by the elementary office doors on May 7 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. to return Chromebooks to the school.
May 11-15 (Last week of school) – Two learning challenges during the week will finish out the school year. Teachers will continue to communicate these challenges on the grade level calendars.
Elementary Awards Assembly is tentatively planned for Friday, August 28.
The grade level calendars and other pertinent weekly updates can be accessed from our school website or the Blue Jay Bulletin for Parents newsletter that is emailed out each week during our extended school closure. To sign up for the newsletter please email Mr. Waigand at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am grateful to our staff for extending a compassionate and loving hand to our students and families during this time. To our parents and guardians, thank you for answering the call. The days have not always been easy (as a parent, I understand) but may we continue to bear with one another in love. We can and will be stronger in the end!
