The Rock Port Park Board met April 8, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Members present were Katey Kroeger, Jill Lager, Tisha Jackson, Clint Dougherty, Tawni Ellis, Lisa Farmer, Sheena Roup, and Devon Sons. Shauna Farmer was absent. Also present was City Clerk Emily Schulte.

Katey called the meeting to order.

Board members approved the meeting agenda, the March 4 meeting minutes, and the March 2020 financials.

Tisha, Clint, and Lisa’s terms are currently set for expiration. Tisha and Clint are interested in serving another term. The Park Board recommended the mayor reinstate Tisha Jackson and Clint Dougherty for another three-year term.

There is now one open position available. If anyone is interested they can obtain a board application from City Hall. The Park Board is also requesting that the city post the available position onto the city Facebook page.

The 2020-2021 Park Board officers are: Katey Kroeger, president; Jill Lager, vice-president; and Tisha Jackson, secretary/treasurer.

The Pool Committee is being formed. Residents should contact Katey Kroger if interested in joining.

Playground equipment, shelter house, and picnic tables will remain closed until further notice.

Katey will call the city to have signs put on the basketball hoops to close them until further notice.

2020 Pool Season

The 2020 pool pass prices will be as follows:

• Family season pass – up to 5 members, $100; add $10 for each additional household member; add babysitter, $15 (only valid when with children on pass)

• Single season pass, $50

• Senior citizen individual season pass (65+), $45

• Senior citizen family season pass (65+), $90; add $10 for each additional household member

• Adult swim only single season pass, $45;

• Swim team participant, $10 (non-season pass holder)

• Day pass, $3 (5 and under are free)

• Pool party with 1 guard, $70; pool party with 2 guards, $90.

Hours for the season will be:

• Open swim: Sunday-Saturday, 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

• Adult swim: Monday-Friday, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Monday – Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A park clean-up day will be determined based on COVID-19 orders.

A tree trimming date will also be determined based on COVID-19 orders as Park Board members intend to save money on trimming by gathering the debris themselves.

The Park Board is currently planning on getting the pool ready for the 2020 season as planned with ACCO. They hope to hear from ACCO in early May on when they will be out to begin getting the pool ready for the season.

The next meeting date will be May 13, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom if the Stay-at-Home order is still in effect.
