MFA, Inc., recently donated $2,500 to the Rock Port Senior Center. Caitlain Bantam, left, presented the check to Carmen Ellison, right.

Advanced Pork Systems, Fairfax, also donated over 100 pounds of ribs and ground pork to the Rock Port Senior Center.

The MFA Incorporated Charitable Foundation’s Board of Trustees met March 26, 2020, to discuss how the foundation could help communities in their trade area that face challenges from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. MFA asked its district managers to identify local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations working to assist community members in need.

The board voted unanimously to contribute $2,500 to Rock Port Senior Center Associates to help with the costs of providing home-delivered meals to seniors in need.

Carmen Ellison, administrator, said, “The donation from MFA Inc. Charitable Foundation is truly appreciated. During the COVID-19 pandemic the Rock Port Senior Center has been unable to have fundraisers in order to meet the budget. We have been serving all home delivered meals to an increased number of clients. This donation has greatly helped with the purchase of raw food to provide those healthy meals. We are very thankful for the support from MFA Inc.”
