The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) Board met June 10, 2020. Board members present were: Bob Alldredge, Jeff Meyer, Eryn Stepp, Craig Corken, Lori Seymour, WC Farmer, Roger Martin, and Lydia Hurst. Monica Bailey was also present.

Lori Seymour called the meeting to order.

The minutes of the April 30 meeting were approved. The April and May financials were also approved as presented.

CD #1336 will be cashed and reallocated to a new CD at the bank with the best rate for the shortest amount of time. Signers on the new CD will be Corken, Alldredge and Bailey.

Director’s Report

ACDC’s ongoing support of revitalization groups includes Tarkio Renewal and newly reengaged Restore Rock Port.

ShopAC continues through June 20 with 31 stores participating. Five ticket numbers will be drawn by June 23 (five winners will receive a $50 gift certificate to an Atchison County store of their choice)

Youth Beautification Grant: current grant projects (2019-2020) will receive an extension through September 30 (at least) if needed. The 2020-2021 YBF grant application will be available this fall.

Business Improvement Grants: $4,846 (of $10,000) has been awarded in 2020 and $2,000 has been paid out.

New Business

ACDC’s annual meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 9.

Tarkio Tech scholarship applications from local applicants will be reviewed by the board as they are received. Non-local resident applications will be reviewed at the next ACDC meeting.
