A one-vehicle accident left a local teen with minor injuries Sunday, June 14, 2020, in Atchison County.

The wreck occurred when a 2008 Ford F150, driven by Aaron R. Lawrence, 18, of Rock Port, Missouri, was eastbound on US Hwy. 136 near Rock Port, Missouri. Lawrence attempted to turn the vehicle north onto Route Y and the Ford skidded through the intersection, sliding off the east side of Route Y. The vehicle traveled down the embankment and struck a ditch, coming to rest on its wheels off the east side of the roadway, facing northeast.

Lawrence, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Atchison-Holt ambulance crew. The 2008 Ford F150 sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Double M Towing of Rock Port.

The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. S.M. Hux, who was assisted by Sgt. M.P. Quilty, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, and the Atchison-Holt Ambulance District.
