The Atchison County Library recently joined the Grand River Digital Library Consortium and is now offering the availability of electronic books and audiobooks. The group consists of 19 libraries in northern Missouri that band together to share e-materials through Axis360, a website designed for that purpose by material supplier Baker & Taylor.

A library user will need to download the Axis360 app to the digital reader of their choice, such as a phone, reader or computer. The user will read or listen to their borrowed material through the app.

To borrow items, go to the Atchison County Library webpage, https://youseemore.com/acl/. Click on the Axis360 button on the information bar near the top of the webpage. This will take the user to the borrowing site. A user will need to enter their Atchison County card number and PIN number. Inside the site, users may search for materials that are available and check out those items. If materials are already circulating, the user may place an item on hold for the next available copy.

Since the Consortium sets the general rules, electronic circulations differ from the library’s rules. Electronic materials may be checked out for three weeks, they may be renewed if no one else has a hold on them, are limited to five titles per patron, and have a limit of 15 holds per patron.

Give the system a try or call the library if you have any questions. Guideline sheets are also available at the library.
