Cornerstones of the Westboro School are being installed next to the Veterans Memorial in Westboro, Missouri.

The Veterans Memorial was recently installed at the former Westboro School site and Westboro Wildcats ball field in Westboro, Missouri. It reads, “Dedicated to all veterans past and present who have faithfully served our nation in war and peace.  United we stand.”  On the other, “To all those who served with pride and courage so that we never forget our veterans’ sacrifices.”

To the east of the memorial, the workman is installing the school’s cornerstones. One lists the “Board of Directors:  J.W. Peck, President; T.W. Farnsworth, Vice-President; P. Utter, Secretary; W.H. Shough, Treasurer; J.H. Flack, C.E. Peck, G.W. Daniels, I.L. Filson.” The other, “Erected by Consolidated School Dist. No 4, Atchison County, MO; 1917; H.W. Underhill & Co, Architect; Weeks Const. Co. Builders.” Way to go, Westboro!

Gifts for the ongoing project may be sent to Westboro Wildcats, c/o Alan McNaughton, 13971 Satchel Ave., Westboro, MO 64498.
