The Brownville Community Foundation recently awarded $3,212 to three organizations as part of its 2020 grant cycle.

The foundation’s grant program supports historical, cultural, educational, environmental, and recreational initiatives of the Brownville community. The objective is to fund projects that will have a permanent impact on, and in, the Brownville community that people can take advantage of for many years.

The Brownville Community Foundation awarded the following three grants:

Brownville Concert Series, Inc.: $1,450 to assist with the roofing project for the Brownville Concert Hall storage building

Brownville Fine Arts Association: $1,112 for benches for the Rohman Garden

Brownville Village Theatre Foundation: $650 to assist with backstage renovations at the theatre

Decisions about grants from the fund are made by a local board. Current board members are Joseph Lauber, Susan Kunert, John Lauber, Max Kathol, Ruth Keene, and Jan Chism Wright.

Donations are always welcome. The more the Brownville Community Foundation Fund grows, the more they are able to support Brownville.
