Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF) has made the difficult decision to cancel their annual fundraising event, Missouri’s Great Northwest Winefest, originally scheduled for September 19, 2020, in Mound City, due to COVID-19 concerns.
“After much consideration of how we could ensure the safety and health of everyone involved in Winefest during this uncertain climate, we decided to cancel this year’s event and pursue other methods of fundraising,” NWMEF Chair Monica Bailey said. “We are incredibly disappointed that we are unable to provide this outlet for both the amazing small businesses that we love to promote and support and the patrons that enjoy this day year after year as much as we do!”
Full refunds will be given to vendors and ticket holders.
The Winefest Committee will begin working on the 2021 event and hopes to be able to announce details early next spring.
“Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times,” says event coordinator Lisa Luke. “The committee would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the past 10 years and we look forward to celebrating with you in 2021.”
NWMEF is a non-profit organization that depends on donations, grants, and fundraising efforts in order to carry out their free coaching services to entrepreneurs and small businesses to become and stay successful as a business owner throughout the six-county area they serve.
