Atchison County Outlaws took first place in the 3&2’s Royal’s Rumble Tournament on July 18 and 19 in Shawnee, Kansas. Team members include, from left to right: front row – Jack Meyerkorth and Izac Hurst; middle row – Jadyn Geib, Tayden Cook, Westyn Amthor, Carter Oswald, Dylan Lair, Teagan Brunk, and Parker Livengood; and back row – Coach Jared Meyerkorth, Coach Troy Cook, Tate Johnson, Brenden Lahart, Ryder Herron, Coach Rebel Herron, and Coach Wyatt Amthor. The Outlaws took second seed in the pool play games on Saturday winning with a score of 23 to 9 vs. the Topeka Lake Monsters and 8 to 1 vs. Sedalia Smoke. On Sunday, the boys played in the 12A top flight bracket winning their first game against Lightning Baseball 18-2 putting them into the championship game where they brought home a first place win beating Thunder 11-5. The Atchison County Outlaws went into this season as a 12A team and ended the season as a 12AA team. Way to go Outlaws!
