The Community Hospital Auxiliary held a special meeting July 8 in the hospital parking lot in Fairfax, Missouri, with 14 members and two guests present. Attending members wore masks and practiced social distancing.
President Rose Munsey installed the new president, Merylan Lowrey. Merylan announced that the nominating committee recommends Amy Sefrit be named as the president-elect. Marilyn Alldredge moved to accept the committee’s recommendation, Rose Munsey seconded, and the motion carried. Marilyn moved for Sue Carder to serve as the representative for Fairfax on the board, Gerry Tohill seconded, and the motion carried.
Robin Salfrank announced that Mardee Collingham was voted to be honored as the Auxilian of the Year. She presented her with a plaque and a bouquet of flowers. Mardee will further be honored and recognized by riding in the Fairfax Fair Parade.
Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 virus, the auxiliary will not be meeting, the Hospital Gift Shop will remain closed, and the group will not be holding any fundraising events until after the first of the year. However, the Auxiliary Board will meet as scheduled in October. A newsletter or the calling tree will be used to update members with any important information. Members may mail their annual dues to Ann Martin or wait until the meetings resume in January to pay them.
The Auxiliary members are happy to announce that the organization is presenting John Lang and Tacy Mitchell with $500 scholarships each.
