The Atchison County Commission met Tuesday, July 14, 2020.  Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were reviewed and approved.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer was in to discuss road and bridge matters. BRO-Funding was discussed.

Louis Feldman, Project Manager of Renewable Development with Invenergy, was in to give an update on the Outlaw Project. Construction is expected to ramp up in the next month with an additional 170-plus new workers in the area. The commission inquired about Fegan’s plans for any removed tubes at the end of the project. The county would have an interest if they do not wish to transport them.

The were no calls for Board of Equalization, so the public hearing was not opened.

The Commission met Thursday, July 16, 2020.  Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were reviewed and approved.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer was in to discuss road and bridge matters. Supervisor Meyer stated that he would prefer not to put rock on a CART road unless it can be graded by a county grader. The commission agreed with this request.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood opened the 2020 Board of Equalization to hear informal changes from Assessor Lori Jones. The changes were approved as presented.

The commission reviewed and approved a Procedure Checklist – When an Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19 to distribute to the county offices.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were reviewed and approved.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood signed the CDBG Long Term Recovery Project Proposal form on behalf of the Phelps City Drainage District.

Sheriff Dennis Martin met with the commission to report that Deputy Devon Sons has returned to duty.
