The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, July 30, 2020. Present were: North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission. Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood called in via conference line.

South District Commissioner Burke called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved.

North District Commissioner Quimby reported a call from Duane Klute, who had concerns about his road. Road and Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer was in to discuss the concerns with the commission. Mr. Klute requested 110 tons of repair rock, which he would match with 100 tons. The commission approved but Mr. Klute will be responsible for hauling his 100 tons. Mr. Klute was contacted with the commission’s decision.

Ottmann Electric presented a bid to install a new pole light at the courthouse. The commissioners voted to accept the bid as long as it could be installed with the timeline of the project.

Clerk Taylor reported that all the polling locations were open for the 2020 primary election and everything was running smooth.

Monthly department reports were reviewed and approved.
