The Atchison County Development Corporation Board met via Zoom Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Present were: Craig Corken, Bob Alldredge, W.C. Farmer, Roger Martin, Jeff Meyer, Lori Seymour, and Eryn Stepp, board members; Monica Bailey, director; and Carol Clark, assistant.

Board members voted to approve the minutes of the June 6 and July 22 meetings.

The June and July financials were approved as presented.

CD #7400 matured on July 30. It was reinvested for 15 months at 0.79%.

Director’s Report

Youth Beautification Grant: two of the six projects have been completed. In 2021, the YBF grant application will be distributed in January and due in March. Projects will be completed by August 31, 2021.

Business Improvement Grants: $5,846 (of $10,000) has been awarded in 2020 and $3,000 has been paid out.

New Business

This year’s annual awards and recipients were discussed.

A nonprofit support request from Fairfax Improvement Foundation (new bleachers at the Fairfax football field) was reviewed. Corken moved that ACDC give $3,000 toward the project. Martin seconded and all approved. Alldredge abstained.

A nonprofit support request from Tarkio Golf Course (new clubhouse) was reviewed. The need for a new HVAC system at the Rock Port Country Club was also discussed. Meyer moved that ACDC give $2,500 to each golf course to assist with these projects. Corken seconded and all approved.

A corporate marketing request was reviewed. The board declined participation.
