University of Missouri Extension horticulture specialists will offer a “Lunch and Learn” series to help gardeners prepare for spring lawns, gardens and flower beds.
Classes begin August 27 and will continue every other Thursday through November 5 through Zoom, according to MU Extension horticulture field specialist Kathi Mecham. Classes run from noon to 12:45 p.m.
MU Extension specialists will teach sessions on fall lawn care, cover crops for the vegetable garden, native trees for the landscape, planting spring flowering bulbs and winterizing the garden, as well as a Tips, Tricks and Garden Myths roundtable.
Topics and presenters include: Fall Lawn Care and Renovation with Lee Miller, MU Extension turf pathologist; Cover Crops in the Vegetable Garden with Kate Kammler, field specialist in horticulture; Choosing and Planting Native Trees for Your Landscape with Sarah Havens, MU Extension field specialist in natural resources; Tulips, Daffodils and Hyacinths, Oh My! MU Extension horticulture field specialist Donna Aufdenberg; Summer Ends, Winter Beauty Begins, MU Extension horticulture field specialist Tom Fowler;
The series ends with a roundtable discussion by specialists sharing gardening and horticulture Tips, Tricks and Myths.
