Mark Phillip Jensen, 57, son of Dr. Gary Dean and Evelyn (Stoddard) Jensen, formerly of Tarkio, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Mark attended Tarkio Elementary, Tarkio Junior High, and Tarkio High School through his sophomore year in 1979. From childhood, Mark was an athlete, playing baseball, football, and basketball. He also played drums in school and for the Mule Barn Theatre in the summer. Mark was a Boy Scout and a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church.
In 1979, the family moved to Cameron, Missouri, where Mark graduated from Cameron High School in 1981. After high school, Mark attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, for two years before beginning his own successful company, Liberty Painting and Paperhanging. Mark married Pam Serfass of Brookfield, Missouri, in 1984, and the couple had two children, Abigail in 1992 and Elizabeth in 1994. Mark loved fishing and spending time outdoors, taking vacations with his family, and watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs and KU Jayhawks basketball. He also loved spending time at the family farm outside Auburn, Nebraska.
Mark was preceded in death by his former wife, Pam, and his dad, Gary. Survivors include: mother, Evelyn Jensen, Liberty; sister, DeeDee Gutshall, Liberty; sister, Jody Shaffer, Liberty; daughter, Abi Jensen, St. Louis; daughter, Libby Jensen, Brookfield, Missouri; many first cousins, nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, and friends.
A memorial service was held in Liberty, Missouri, on November 14, 2019.
