Area youth basketball players from around the region gained excellent training and instruction during the recent Peru State girls’ basketball camp.
Joan Albury, Bobcat women’s basketball head coach, directed the camp along with Ian Holleran, assistant coach.
Youth from Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska participated in the camps. The camps, which had originally been planned for June, had to be moved to early August due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kamryn Lair, Rock Port, attended the grades 1-4 camp.
In attendance for the grades 5-10 camp were: Beth Clark, Tarkio; Talyn Amthor and Kinley Lair, Rock Port.
Coach Albury was pleased with the attendance, despite the change of date, and with school starting in some area schools. As part of the camp, Albury did share some information on the NAIA’s Champions of Character program and its five core values.
