
Eddie Ray Bywater, the son of Benjamin and Armilda (O’Bannon) Bywater, was born on December 20, 1929, in Tarkio, Missouri. Eddie attended Tarkio schools, Tarkio.
On December 5, 1951, Eddie entered the United States Army and served his country two years in the Korean War.
On May 16, 1954, Eddie was united in marriage to Arlene Singleton in Tarkio. They became the parents of five children: Debbie, Michael, Phillip, Stuart, and Jon.
Eddie worked as a farm hand and later was employed by Eaton Corporation, Shenandoah, Iowa, until retiring.
Eddie was a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio. Eddie passed away Friday, July 24, 2020, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 90.
Besides his parents and wife, Arlene, Eddie was preceded in death by siblings, Lois, Mildred, Virginia, Duggy, and Presley; granddaughter, Misty Lybarger; great-grandson, Nicholas; and son-in-law, Ron Gibbons.
Survivors include children, Debbie Gibbons, Skiatook, Oklahoma, Michael Bywater, Tarkio, Phillip Bywater, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Stuart Bywater, Tarkio, and Jon (Amber) Bywater, Tarkio; grandchildren, Angie, Jake, Sarah, Justin, Shylo, Pam, Jeremy, Briacin, Cameron, and RayLeigh; great- grandchildren, Elizabeth, Delilah, Noah, Phoenix, Cadence, Mercedes, Haley, Emily, Lilith, Zane, Jayden, Darika, Paige, Jordon, Brandon, Noah, Brooklyn, Kyle, Alexis, Ariel, and Arlene; great-great-grandchildren, Misty Dawn, Kaedin, Sophie, Nevada, Maddox, Braxton, Laetyn; siblings, Annie, Lester, and Ralph; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Graveside service and inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. There is no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Eddie Bywater Memorial Fund.
