Bring your family to the finals of Pick-Up Country, Knim’s Country Showdown! This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Country Showdown is not sponsoring a contest and the Nodaway County Fair was cancelled. But 11 musicians will still be competing to win $500 at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, at Mozingo Lake east of Maryville, Missouri. Last year’s winner, McKenna Liles, will be performing during intermission. The Pick-Up Country, Knim Country Showdown will be entertainment during the Nodaway County Fair, City of Maryville, and KC BBQ Society Labor Day Weekend event.
NorthwestCell will be presenting the People’s Choice Award. The audience will text in their favorite performer and whoever gets the most votes wins a prize package.
“I am glad to say we have quite a few new contestants competing this year. But we also have some of everyone’s favorites coming back: Lonia Bowen, This Side of Normal, and Josh Daniels. It will be a great show again this year!” commented Joyce Cronin, Owner of 97-1 The ‘Vill/Pick-Up Country, Knim.
