Alma Marjorine (Ohrt) Tiemeyer passed away peacefully in Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 28, 2020. She was born August 20, 1928, in Watson, Missouri, to Anna Louise (Schierkolk) and John Wilhelm Ohrt. Alma married Raymond Henry Tiemeyer on May 28, 1950, and had three children, David, Patricia, and Daniel, and a granddaughter, Christie.
Alma was a graduate of Immanuel School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska, and specialized in obstetrics during her working career. She delighted in helping mothers care for their newborn children. Raymond, a Lutheran pastor, and Alma served churches in Tipton and Sioux City, Iowa, Bloomfield, New Jersey, Los Alamos, New Mexico, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Denver, Colorado, before they retired to Lincoln. For the past two decades, Alma enjoyed living at The Landing at Williamsburg where she spent countless hours sewing children’s quilts for various non-profit organizations.
She is survived by her son, David (Carol Beidleman) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; daughter, Patricia (Loi) Vo of Lincoln; son, Daniel of Greeley, Colorado; granddaughter, Christie (Doug) VanAndel of Lincoln; and sister, Ann (Robert) Crabtree of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tiemeyer; parents, Anna and John Ohrt; and siblings, John Henry Ohrt, Paul Ohrt and Ruth (Ohrt) Goodrich.
She will be buried next to her husband on the family farm in a private gathering.
