Tyler Dorrel is the new full-time Tarkio Police Officer. He joins Police Chief Tyson Gibbons and Officer Adam Stanton.
The Tarkio Police Department has a new officer on its staff. Tyler Dorrel of Tarkio recently began his duties as officer, working full-time, usually the night shift.
Officer Dorrel was born and raised in Hamilton, Missouri. In 2014, he was a dispatcher and jailer in Holt County. He became a detention officer in Platte County in 2016 while going through the Police Academy. Upon graduation, he became a Platte County Deputy in 2017. He worked for Holt County again in early 2020 before coming to Tarkio.
Officer Dorrel says he enjoys helping others. He attended EMT school where he met Chief Gibbons and decided to become an officer. He’s looking forward to getting to know the citizens of Tarkio. He said one important thing about being an officer is performing duties to the best of his abilities so that citizens feel comfortable coming to him in their time of need, but also knowing that he won’t let things slide and will make sure that the law is enforced.
