Delores Lorene Shipley, 84, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 2, 2020, at Gothenburg Health in Gothenburg. She was born December 22, 1935, in Fairfax, Missouri, the daughter of Dillard Allen and Mildred Lorene (Brickey) Price.

She grew up in Fairfax and was baptized at the age of 6. She graduated from Fairfax High School.

Delores married Lewis Shipley on November 8, 1953, at Fairfax. Four children were born to this union. They moved to Yerington, Nevada, in 1967, to North Platte, Nebraska, 1977, to Arnold, Nebraska. They then moved to Fairfax in 1985, back to North Platte in 1991, and back to Arnold in 2014. Through the years, Delores worked in sales at department stores, Woolworth, WJ O’Conners and Walmart.

She enjoyed watching her grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids in activities and growing up. She loved collecting angels and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Matt) Vickers of Arnold, and Christy (Tim) Knapp of Fort Worth, Texas; grandkids, Lisa (Jay) Lindholm, Rudy (Trish) Vickers, Travi (Randy Connell) Franssen, Robbin Knapp, Jed Geiser, Valerie (Ray) Ferris, Mike (Jenna) Knapp, and Brynn (Nicole Clark) Geiser; great-grandkids Tracyjay Lindholm, Skye (Jovi) Wear, Rhett (Bella) Lindholm, Drew, Charli, Hudson Vickers, Emilee and Michon Franssen, ZoAnn Boller, Alex and Evan Geiser, Clayton Vickers, Drake and Camden Ferris, Maddix, Khloe, and Jaxon Knapp; great-great-grandchildren, Charlee and Ali Lindholm, Decklynn and Laklynn Wear, and Jaden Franssen; special friends, Joe and Cherly Fisher; two sisters, Wanda (Don) Thaden of Waco, Texas, Sharon (Charley) Jones of Tarkio, Missouri; a host of nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by husband, Lewis “Doc” Shipley in 2017; son, Lewis “Butchie” Shipley, Jr.; daughter, Peggy Jo Ellison; mother, Mildred Lorene Price; father, Dillard Allen Price; and her in-laws, Alfonzo and Martha Shipley.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Friday, September 25, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Boyd officiating. Memorials may be given to the Callahan Oncology Center, American Heart Association, or Arnold and Gothenburg Fire and Rescue Departments.
