Sophie Smith, daughter of Zac and Katie Smith, Fairfax, is having fun on the new fire truck in the Fairfax City Park. This piece of equipment is for toddlers and was purchased by Fairfax Improvement Foundation. The foundation has initiated several projects this year for the betterment of Fairfax.

Playground equipment purchased with Ray memorial funds

The family of Deanie Ray, Scott and Bonnie Ray, Kent and Janice Ray, Fairfax, and their families chose to designate Deanie’s memorial funds to a fun piece of equipment for toddlers up to age 10 to be placed close to the shelter house in the Fairfax City Park. They chose a four-person teeter-totter.

Todd Fogg, Fairfax, ordered and assembled the new equipment. He was assisted by Bo Peregrine and Isaac Vette, Tarkio. Isaac wanted to earn a first degree Boy Scout award, and Bo wanted to be a part of his great-grandmother’s memorial project.

The new equipment has been tried and tested by several. The city and Rays ask that older children and adults not abuse this equipment.

This project was initiated by Fairfax Improvement Foundation and the members are pleased that the Ray family and all assisting with this project helped make this happen. The foundation also appreciates the City of Fairfax for paying the installation fee and John Brown’s added workmanship.
