Rock Port
As the Adopt-A-family program comes close to an end, there are still 12 family food baskets and two elder food baskets that need to be filled. The program is sponsored by the Rock Port Ministerial Alliance.
To donate a food basket, visit the Rock Port United Methodist Church office, which is open Monday- Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. You can also contact the church at 660-744-2101 or email methch@rpt.coop. Drop off will be December 8 and 9.
Food basket donors will be given a sheet with suggested items that can be placed in a box that is given to the family/elder. Suggested items include food staples, laundry products, or candy.
Tarkio, Westboro, Fairfax
Families are now available to adopt with the Tarkio/Westboro “Adopt-a-Family” program. If you, your church, or group would like to adopt a child and/or family for the Christmas season, call or text Joan at 660-253-0087 or email her at mamachic@tarkio.net.
Gifts can be dropped off any time, but must be dropped off by December 18. To schedule a drop-off, call or text Joan.
Tarkio Meals on Wheels adoption
The Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring a Meals on Wheels adoption program (this will take the place of senior baskets) for Tarkio, Westboro, and Fairfax senior citizens. You can simply donate (suggestion is $30) and your money will provide a senior with meals. Checks can be left in the office at the Tarkio First Baptist Church or the Tarkio Nutrition Center. Please make checks payable to the Tarkio Ministerial Alliance or Tarkio Nutrition Center.
