
Steven Keith Hughes, 71, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020.
Steve was born October 21, 1949, in Hamburg, Iowa, to James Cecil Hughes and Ruth Maxine Linville Hughes. He married Hope on October 6, 1972, in Fairfax, Missouri. Steve served his country in the United States Army, was a Fritch City Council member for many years, and was a member of the Billy Dixon Lodge #1369. He owned and operated Steve Hughes Electric for many years. Steve enjoyed bowling and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. However, nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hope Hughes; an infant daughter; sister, Janet Thomas; and a brother, Jimmie Hughes.
Survivors include his sons, Shane Hughes and wife, Rachael, Fritch, Texas, Wesley Hughes and wife, Shasta, Fritch, Dustin Hughes and Christina Haiduk, Fritch; six grandchildren, Heather, Hunter, Grayson, Kinley, Harper, and Holden; brothers, Gary Hughes and wife, Joyce, and Rick Hughes, all of Rock Port, Missouri; sisters, Bonnie Hughes and Midge Hunter and husband, Steve, all of Rock Port; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hughes, Rock Port; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger, Texas.
