
Scharlene Drummond, 92, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at Parkdale Manor, where she has been a resident for four years.
Scharlene was born on October 23, 1928, in Shambaugh, Iowa, to Chalmers and Zoolene (Macrander) Kelley.
She was a 1946 graduate of the Westboro High School in Westboro, Missouri. She was a homemaker, member of the First Baptist Church in Tarkio, Missouri, the Lone Star Club and she enjoyed going to flea markets to add to their collectables.
Scharlene married Robert P. Drummond on January 10, 1947, in Maryville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2012. She was also preceded by her parents; son, Bobby Joe Drummond; two sisters, Sharon McEnaney and Betty Ellsion; brother, Duane Kelley; and a grandson, Kyle James.
Survivors include her children, Linda Hanks, Springfield, Missouri, Mary (John) Strauch, Westboro, and Donnie (Denise) Drummond, Burlington Junction, Missouri; six grandchildren, Matt Strauch, Maryville, Missouri, Katherine (Jeff) Littlejohn, Kansas City, Missouri, Shane Jackson, Springfield, Shelley (Steven) Marriott, Clearmont, Missouri, Nathan (Crissy) Drummond, Fairfax, Missouri, and Jason James, Springfield; 10 great-grandchildren, Sydney and Savanna Marriott, Dalaynie, Dylan, and Damon Drummond, Carter, Kennedy and Pierce Strauch, and Kendra and Joe Littlejohn; one great-great-grandchild, Chayne Guilliams; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at High Prairie Cemetery in Elmo, Missouri, under the care of Price Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Tarkio or Parkdale Manor at www.pricefuneralhomemaryville.com.
