Victor L. Robbins, the son of Frank and Rose Robbins, was born May 1, 1921, in Bendena, Kansas. He attended Bendena Public Schools.
Victor was united in marriage to Ethyl Conners in Wathena, Kansas. They became the parents of five children: Marietta, John, Frank, Sonny, and Vicky. They later divorced. Victor was united in marriage to Betty Cheek in Troy, Kansas. They became the parents of four children: Lela, Mike, Tony, and Kelly. They later divorced.
Victor worked as a farmer in the Wathena, Denton, and Troy, Kansas, areas. He was then employed by Doniphan County (Kansas) Road District where he operated a motor grader until retiring in 1989. In 2003, Victor moved to Tarkio, Missouri, to be closer to his family.
Victor loved to weld, work on machinery, and build equipment. Due to ill health, Victor became a resident of Tarkio Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Tarkio, in 2004. Victor passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 99.
Besides his parents, Victor was preceded in death by children, John, Frank, Sonny, Vicky, and infant Kelly Robbins; and three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include children, Marietta Shears, Texas, Lela (Larry) Grimes, Tarkio, Mike (Jeannie) Robbins, Savannah, Missouri, and Tony Robbins, St. Joseph, Missouri; stepsons, Jack Dillman, St. Joseph, and Kenny Dillman, Virginia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and sister, Christina Evans, Atchison, Kansas.
There are no scheduled memorial services. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Victor Robbins Memorial Fund.
